David Cabrelli, Senior Lecturer, Edinburgh University

David’s talk covered (a) the criterion for the classification of a contract as a worker contract, whether zero-hours contracts might be construed as worker contracts and Taylor’s recommendations regarding the worker contract, (b) whether the implied terms of the employment contract also apply to worker contracts, and (c) whether the common law default rules governing the obligations of the parties on suspension, variation, termination and post-termination in the case of the employment contract apply to worker contracts.
