We are delighted to confirm that bookings for this year’s Hybrid Annual Conference at Downing College, Cambridge on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September are now open. 

A copy of the Conference Programme can be downloaded here, from which you will see that our Friday afternoon plenary session will be given by Lady Justice Elisabeth Laing on Restrictive Covenants. In addition on the Friday there will be a session by Professor Jeremias Adams-Prassl, Oxford University on Algorithms at Work – What if your boss was an algorithm? and a Discussion Panel Session with Clare Conaghan, Director, Dearden HR; Ben Cooper QC and Robin White, both from Old Square Chambers on sex, gender identity and religion and belief in the workplace.

On the Saturday our plenary sessions will be The protection of the individual right to strike under Article 11 and in domestic law: the journey to Mercer by Stuart Brittenden, Old Square Chambers and Labour Migration in the Post-Brexit UK:Transformation or Evolution by Dr Manoj Dias-Abey, Bristol University.

During the conference we will also be hosting workshop sessions on A view from an Employment Judge, All things fire and rehire, Personal Injury in Discrimination Claims and Questions of privilege.

Our after dinner speaker will be Victoria Phillips, former Head of Employment Rights – Client Relations, Thompsons.

In person fees include one night’s en-suite accommodation and all meals from lunch on Friday through to lunch on Saturday, including a drinks reception and banquet dinner on the Friday evening. 

If you book to participate in the Conference by live stream then you will have access to all plenary and panel sessions taking place on Friday and Saturday. You will be able to watch the workshop sessions online but the technology will not permit us to enable your active, vocal participation in them.

Covid information

In-person attendees will be asked to take a lateral flow test on the morning of their arrival at Downing College and not to attend if they test positive or have been in recent close contact with someone who has tested positive.  Delegates unable to attend the Conference due to having Covid will be sent the link to participate virtually instead and a refund between the cost of in-person attendance and online attendance will be given.

Downing College requires delegates to follow their guidance which includes the wearing of masks when obtaining keys and when approaching buffet or drinks stations (see further Covid-19 Delegate Information V7).
